Design, print and websites for Somerset businesses and councils

We are based in Weston-super-Mare and have a long-standing client base in Taunton and Bridgwater, and we work face to face with businesses in Burnham-on-Sea and across the county.

Somerset is a big county. We combine face-to-face meetings by arrangement with phone, email and video calls, so a business in Taunton or Bridgwater gets the same service as one in Weston.

Ask us a question

Which council covers you?

Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Portishead and Nailsea are in North Somerset, which is a separate unitary authority from Somerset Council. Taunton, Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea come under Somerset Council, which replaced the old county and district councils in April 2023. It matters for signs and banners, because the planning authority differs, and for public sector websites, because councils and their town and parish councils have accessibility duties.

We will tell you which authority applies to your premises and help you choose a size and position that you are likely to be allowed to use.

Taunton is the county town, with retail, public sector and professional services. Bridgwater has a strong industrial and construction base. Burnham-on-Sea is a seaside town with hospitality and local trades. Each needs a different mix of print and web work, and we plan with you around how your customers actually find you.

Town and parish councils

Parish and town councils must meet the accessibility rules for public sector websites, WCAG 2.2 AA, and carry an accessibility statement. Agendas, minutes and reports published as PDFs also need to be readable by screen readers.

We build accessible websites, audit existing ones and fix PDFs. Accessible PDF remediation is a free check, then from £3 a page with a £30 minimum order. If your clerk records meetings, we can also turn the recording into minutes from £35. Prices exclude VAT.

I needed a logo for a new business set up and was very impressed by my experience with Aqueous design. Andy was very professional and answered my emails without delay. Although this is something I had never done before, he was able to make the experience so easy. I would have no hesitation in using Aqueous design again, or indeed recommending them to anyone else.
