Plugins: WordPress has an enormous plugin repository with thousands of free and premium plugins that can be installed to add new features to your website. Popular plugins include complex contact form builders, SEO tools, ecommerce shops, and social media integrations.

Ecommerce: If you would like to sell products or services through your website, there are ecommerce integrations available for WordPress, for example WooCommerce and Shopify, that allow you to integrate an online store and process your sales. How much does a website cost with Aqueous?

HTML websites start from £80 for a single page, £120 for up to 5 pages and £190 for up to 10 pages plus a news or blog area. WordPress websites start from £480. All prices exclude VAT and we confirm a fixed price before any work begins.

Should I choose an HTML or a WordPress website?

Choose HTML if you want the fastest, simplest and cheapest way to get a small site online and your content rarely changes. Choose WordPress if you want to edit pages yourself, publish news or blog posts, sell online or add features over time. If you are unsure, tell us what the site needs to do and we will recommend one.

Can I edit an HTML website myself?

Not without some coding knowledge. We make changes for you, and small edits such as new text, prices or opening hours are quick and inexpensive. If you want to update pages yourself, WordPress is the better choice.

Do you provide hosting and ongoing support?

Yes. Managed hosting starts from £6 a month for HTML websites and £16 a month for WordPress websites, and includes security and backups, plus a free SSL certificate when your domain uses our nameservers. WordPress sites can also have a fixed monthly maintenance plan covering updates and content changes.

Can I sell products online?

Yes, with WordPress. We build online shops using WooCommerce and can connect Shopify. HTML websites suit brochure-style sites, so we do not recommend them for a shop with many products.

Will my website be optimised for search engines?

Yes. Every site includes on-page SEO basics: page titles, descriptions, headings, image names and local business markup. HTML sites are also very quick to load, which visitors and Google both like. We also offer ongoing SEO if you want to build on this.

How long does it take to build a website?

A standard website usually takes 1 to 2 weeks once we have your content. Larger projects, ecommerce stores and sites with complex features take longer, and we give you a realistic timeframe in your quote.

Can you redesign or take over an existing website?

Yes. We take on existing WordPress and HTML websites for hosting, management or a redesign, and you do not need to have built the original with us. If your WordPress site is slow, see our website facelift service for a fast rebuild.
